Are you looking for the absolute pinnacle of adventure, breathtaking scenery and remote touring? Then our Kimberley Epic Tag Along tour is as good as it gets!! Along the tour you’ll get the chance to tackle the Kimberley’s most iconic and remote tracks, whilst rubbing shoulders with well known traditional owners as they guide us through their piece of paradise! We’ll tackling the Oombulgurri Track, Munja Track, Gibb River Road* and Tablelands Track, for what will be one hell of an adventure!
About
Departing Kununurra we travel north east with the Keep River and Cape Domett in our sights. We then return south through Carlton Hill Station before pointing west for the amazing Oombulgurri Track (formally Carson River Track). Along the way we venture to Wyndham and meet our traditional owners Ronny or Colin - who’ll be guiding us though the first adventure of the trip! We tackle the Kurunjie Track touring past the ore inspiring Cockburn Ranges before arriving at Home Valley Station - the starting point of the Oombulgurri Track. For the next 9 days we’ll traverse the ever changing landscapes of Oombi! Oombi literally has it all! You’ll be tested from the get go as you drive deep river crossings, rocky escarpment tracks, wet season floodplains and sandy creek beds. You’ll be amerced in Indigenous culture and explore the country's most remote rivers, gorges and waterfalls! Set foot where only a handful of white folk have walked before!
Concluding the Oombulgurri Track as we pass through Carson River Station we venture north past the remote community of Kalumburu as we make tracks for Honey Moon Bay. It's here we farewell our amazing Oombi hosts Ronny or Colin. Here we’ll unwind and reminisce over our last adventure. Optional fishing charters and cultural tours are available during our stay at Honey Moon Bay.
After restocking in Kalumburu we travel south west along Port Warrender road and explore Mitchell River National Park including Mitchell Falls and Mertens Falls. Don a headset and jump aboard an optional scenic helicopter flight over this epic Kimberley region.
As we look to our next remote adventure we continue south west along the Kalumburu and Gibb River Road before arriving at Mount Elizabeth Station. With Walcott Inlet in our sights we pick up the Munja track. Over the next 4 and a half days we’ll tackle everything Munja can throw at us as we explore its hidden gems! Much like Oombi, this is an off roaders paradise. Kimberley rock crawling, creek crossings and epic scenery are the Flavour of these parts.
Returning back to Mount Elizabeth’s homestead we carry onto Mount Barnett. It’s here we relax and venture on foot to explore Manning Gorge. Spend the day Gorge side soaking up its natural beauty.
It’s time now to make tracks past Mount House station, Glenroy Station and onto the Tablelands track. Travelling alongside the King Leopold Ranges we wind our way through this unforgiving landscape. Just like our previous adventures on Oombi and Munja, we test the limits of our vehicles as we blaze through the uncharted.
After we complete the Tablelands track we’re on the doorstep of the Bungle Bungles (formally Purnululu National Park). Our day/night will see us explore a true hidden gem of the Kimberley - a secret waterhole well off the tourist route. It’s here we say Farewell to what was Australia's most epic 4x4 adventure!
